Should Couples Separate Their Accounts?

One of the most talked about topics within financial planning is whether or not it is better to separate your bank and brokerage accounts from your spouse or your partner, or put them together. I believe that the real answer is that both can work. However, the deciding factor is whether you communicate and plan a mutual financial goal that you both work to together, regardless of whether or not you split up bank and brokerage accounts.
